Frequently Asked Questions
How do I measure the framework for side panels?
All measurements of your panels should be taken from an outside view. Click here to view our ‘Measurements Consideration Video’.
What kind of garden structures are suitable for side panels?
We can cover just about anything – our side panels are suitable for pergolas, wooden gazebos, outdoor kitchens, garden sheds, hot tub huts, outside kitchen/dining areas, BBQ shacks, picnic shelters, patio privacy and decking enclosures just to name a few.
Are side panels easy to install?
Yes! Our side panels are very easily fitted at home and we have made it even easier. We have created a helpful Fitting Instructions document showing you the steps, simply click here to download. If you prefer to watch a video of our Side Panels Fitting Guidelines, click here.
Where can I position the clear PVC windows and doors?
As we are fully bespoke, they can be placed anywhere on the panels. As we work with wide industrial rolls of material, this can be up to a maximum height or width of 1300mm without a join. Wider windows and doors will have a visible join.
Can I get zipped doorways and frames?
Yes, that is all part of the bespoke experience! Once you have measured the positions for these, we will provide mock-up drawings for your approval before production. From our years of experience, most zipped doorways are 850mm – 1000mm wide.
Where are the eyelets and turn buttons placed?
As standard, we include industrial strength brass or stainless-steel eyelets at the top and both sides, spaced around 250mm-300mm. We provide marine turn buttons which are usually drilled and fixed to your structure. The eyelet can then easily pop over the turn buttons to fix the side panels in place.
How long does it take to manufacture and ship?
The lead time from initial payment to delivery is 3 weeks, but if your project is time constraint, give us a call and we can make your deadline happen. We are a fully bespoke service and take due care and attention to detail when creating all our products. We are happy to provide a sample material upon request before any purchases are made.
Do I need to keep the side panels rolled down in Winter?
During Winter, we recommend keeping the panels rolled down and secured, especially in temperatures below 5C. Keeping panels rolled up during colder conditions can cause damage. We also recommend they are rolled down every night to prevent shrinkage and discolouration from condensation. All our covers are manufactured for use all year round, so maintaining the quality and prolonging lifespan during winter with these measures is encouraged.
How do the panels stay in place when rolled up?
We provide straps to secure the panels in place when rolled up. Simply open the turn buttons and roll the cover to the top of the structure/frame. Pull the straps around your rolled up side panel and fasten the strap to the buckle.
How are the panels secured at the bottom?
After initial installation, we recommend your panels remain rolled down for a couple of weeks to allow the product to settle in place and straighten through its own weight. We include a pocket at the bottom, allowing for a 25mm bar or pole to be slide in and keep it rigid, maintaining its shape. This is not a requirement but we recommend visiting your local hardware shop for purchasing the correct size pole.
How do you clean the side panels?
Our side panel materials require minimal maintenance once secured in place. Either secured in place or fully detached, the panels can be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth/sponge and soapy water, maintaining its high-gloss look. A power washer may also be used, as long as it’s from a distance of 1.5m.
What is another name for side panels?
Side panels can also be referred to as gazebo side curtains, gazebo screens, gazebo covers, pergola sides, garden roll down curtains, privacy panels, gazebo sidewalls, pergola enclosures, pvc curtains, gazebo blinds, gazebo roll-up shades or gazebo & pergola windbreakers or windbreaker panels.
